13 October 2008 - travel home day.

Today was Darryls Birthday. It was to be spent packing, clening the rental car out, flying and being at airports. Here is the plane we flew out of Brisbane on.
we left Keirans about 8:20am and got to the airport about 9:20 , dropped off the rental car , checked in , and had a bit of a loo around at Duty Free. The flight left at about 11:30 and arrived in Auckland about 5:30 pm . It was a bit of a hassle getting through customes etc and over to the domestic terminal for our 7pm flight to wellington , but we were all home and heading to bed just after 9pm.

12 October 2008 - Mt Tamborine Market and Party day

The Lorikeets seemed to be pleased to be fed again this morning , coming down in numbers and letting me get rather close. It was away early up to the Mt Tamborine markets, this market is all australian made or made by the people at the market so no containers full of chinese plastic stuff. It was very cold up on the monutain and had been raining , but it was an interesting look around.Hayley was looking forward to this market becasue of the Pony's you can ride there - here she is on the smallest one.
We had Keirans boys with us today as well.

Back at home it was birthday party day. Darryl and violets niece Amanda both had their birthday the next day and Connor and Liams birthday was the following day so it was BBQ dinner time. Keiran BBQing and Amandas fiancee Robbie doing the supervising.

11 October 2008 - Lorikeets

It was a stay at home day today so I got a chance to mix up some magic Parrot food. (water, sugar and bread) and got about 25-30 Rainbow Lorikeets in for a feed - more than Currumbin got anyway. Just some snaps of the birds feeding on the back fence.

10 October 2008 - Movieworld again

Ashleigh and Anita had a day at the Hairdressers with Violet. Darryl Took Brad and Hayley for their last trip to Movieworld in search of photos with the characters , most rides had already been done. Heres Hayley with Scooby and Shaggy.

Back home later this night it was light up the Brazier and toast Marshmallows - the fire risk is only high and not yet extreme, so we risked bushfire for the sake of a crispy sweet treat.

09 October 2008 - Wet'n'Wild and Movieworld

We all started off at Wet'n'Wild for the day and did the rides that Hayley could do .She really enjoyed calypso Bay where she floated around in an inflatable tube. She also loved The sidewinder and Mammoth Falls.
Darryl won the Aqua racer but then its a mass and momentum thing. After Lunch Anita took Hayley over to Movieworld , Ashleigh went along too as her knee was sore. Darryl and Brad stayed on at Wet'n'Wild for a few more hours then joined them at Movieworld too.

08 October 2008 - Ikea, Hyperdome and Joeys

It was off to Ikea for a last visit (its at that stage of the holiday where we are doing a lot of 'lasts'). It was a quick wqalk thru - almost everything we wanted was out of stock. Anyway the upside was we had their cheap hotdogs and drink deal for lunch again (at 11am) Hotdog and endless refills of fizzy for $2 an extra $1 for each next hotdog. No one likes getting theit photo taken while eating , but they were enjoying it - lunch for 5 - $12.50.
Next stop was the Hyperdome shopping centre where we spent a couple of hours shopping and then headed off home.
If it is a shop that sells Billabong or Roxy then we are in it.
Tonight Connor and Liam had Joeys (Australian version of Keas) . Bradley had brought his uniform with him so went along for the night as well. All muchthe same as NZ Keas and Cubs (except for the dust and the Kookaburras)

07 October 2008 - Shopping and the Beach

We started off the day with a last visit to Harbourtown - the outlet shopping centre on the Gold Coast. We spent a couple of hours there and then moved on.
Our next stop was the shopping Centre at Runaway Bay just near harbourtown.
After making our way around the mall we headed off to Surfers Paradise beach , it was a bit Breezy, but all the kids had fun.
