On Sunday we went to RAAF BAse Amberley out near Ipswich for the Defence Force Air Show. It was by miles better than anything Ive seen in NZ. As well as a whole lot of army type stuff which was actually the Airfield defence units there was F111's , FA18 Hornets C17 Globe Masters, C130 hercules, KC135 and MC130 Stratotankers, F15 Eagles, F16 Fighting Falcons, Orions, Hawks, Blackhawk, Kiowa, Squirrel and Tiger Helicopters (and a lot of other types) , Orions and a whole lot of vintage and stunt Aircraft such as Hudsons, Canberra Bombers, Meteors, Vampires ........ etc.
The Crew for the day was Darryl and Bradley with Keiran, Violet , Conner and Liam. Heres Keiran adn the Boys in front of a F111.
Bradley naturally found all the guns he could - here on top of a 4WD.
And here with a sniper in a Yowie Suit (called Gillie suits in NZ)
Liam found one too on the top of an Armoured Bushmaster troop carrier.
Brad found these 2 guys (one was from New Zealand)
Liam having a go with a sniper rifle.
Conner having a go with a LSW 5.56mm machine gun.
And there was flying too - lots and lots of it - too much to show here as I took over 400 photos and Violet had about the same amount. This is the RAAF Roulettes - the Air Force Acrobatic team.

A set of 4 FA18 Hornets performed an acrobatic display as well.
An FA18 Hornet - the Australian Air force is about to get the Super Hornet as well.
A F111 doing a fuel drop and Burn - we saw at least 3 of these during the day maybe 4.
a C17 Globenmaster - about 5 times bigger than a hurcules (weight wise) and can hold main battle tanks - can still land and take off within about 300M and is very silent for a big plane.

We had a fantastic day and as I said way too many photos to show here , but we pretty much watched and touched everything we could.
