06 October 2008 Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Connor and Liam are now back at school and Keiran and Violet are at work , so its just the Whitby Taylors off to the Currumbin wildlife sanctuary today. This sanctuary is the favourite of the family of all the ones we have visited.
We started off the day getting the shows out of the way with the wildlife, snakes alive and Free flying bird shows before lunch. This is our opportunity to get photos holding stuff. Above Bradley has a Python.
Ashleigh and Hayley had it too - they also got a photo with a possum which are apparently cute and protected in Australia.
And for the first time ever darryl got up the nerve to hold a snake. And then did it again later in the day with a little one.
The highlight of the day for most was the camel ride, it was fairly short, but the kids hadnt been on camels before.
The other favourite for any wildlife ark is feeding kangaroos.

Ashleigh, Hayley and Bradley with their friends.

At the end of the day we go to the Aboriginal Dance display - usually a bit longer , but thunder clouds were rolling in. Here are Brad and Hayley with the dance troupe.
And another first today Anita held a snake, she has touched them before but never held one.
It was only a little one , but small steps..
